Default Solaris 12 switches from IPF to PF

Apparently after Blackberry, few car manufacturers, and Apple, Oracle decided to adopt PF as the official firewall of Solaris 12. IPF which was originally developed on Solaris and became its default firewall is apparently on the death row. Oracle is actually using so recent version of PF that their patches have popped up on tech@openbsd.

It would be nice if these industries gave back to OpenBSD. They have very deep pockets.

Some of them do, in cash:

Oracle already contributed code, which is nice.
Could they give money too? Sure I'd like to see that.

But things do come back to us.
