Question nVidia on NetBSD issue.

Hi all,
I have Dell E6410 Latitude notebook (With nVidia Graphics card) and I installed NetBSD v7.0 as a main OS on it.
While I run
Code:
X -configure
it make a xorg.conf.new and then I run
Code:
X -config /root/xorg.conf.new
but it errored me:
Code:
(EE) No device Detected
Finally I changed nv in xorg.conf.new to vesa but still error me
Code:
(EE) No device Detected

How can I resolve this nVidia issue?
Thanks in advance.

Nouveau has been imported, can you try with a testing version of NetBSD?

or if you're installing from usb:

No, there were many commits since 7.0 but Nouveau never worked for DRM2. It was only enabled by default and made no noise during the build process. I hope we getting a working driver soon.

It is a work in progress. I will send the picture to the Nouveau developer at NetBSD.

note that nv is the old nvidia xorg driver, and is deprecated.
the new one is called nouveau in xorg too.
your problem may have been fixed in 15 April in NetBSD-current.

The nv driver had basic support(2d) for hardware before NV50. The nouveau from DRM had support for some cards 3d but not beyond NV40. Now we have Nouveau from Linux 3.14-3.16.
