Default network and USB stopping on /macppc

Hello all,

I have a problem with my little G4 Mac mini I am trying to use as a file server running NetBSD 7.1.

I am using a few large external USB drives plugged in to the mini. When I try rsync'ing the mini things go well for about an hour or 2 but then the machine will drop off the network. I thought it was freezing because no response on the console but then I realized its USB which as completely failed also. If something like 'top' or systat is left on the console it keeps updating. But there is no messages about USB un-attaching or other indications something is wrong.

When trying to troubleshoot I left 'ping -i 5 192.168.1.1' running on the console pinging itself(machine ip is 192.168.1.1).
When I noticed the rsync failing I went to the console and ping was still running but failing with "No buffer space available"

I tried rsync -–bwlimit down to half the speed and it still fails after awile.

Any idea's of what I should be looking for?

Code:

Well what ever was wrong is now fixed in 8.0BETA. rsynced 800+ gigs over the network to a USB drive and zero problems. Was also using samba to stream HD off a different drive on the same machine when it was doing that. A-OK.
