Default Thinkpad auto brightness on boot

Hello all,

I replaced my X200s with a X230. As expected everything is working fine.
One thing remain that is bothering me though is the brightness after boot. I might be wrong but I think that on the X200, the brightness would be set automatically to the same level that was used on shutdown. Am I mis-remembering? Maybe I am only noticing this on the new much brighter X230.

What is your experience with this ? Are you, like me, manually setting the brightness after each boot? Or do you have a setting (wsconsctl?)

Thanks

My X201 remembers the brightness setting both for the console and the X server.

If I switch to a console from X the brightness is set to maximum but it goes back to the original value after a single touch of the keyboard brightness control (even if I attempt to raise the brightness, weirdly) and it also resets to the original brightness at the next boot.

If I switch between tty and X, the brightness is kept. Strange but fine by me.
But I don't spend much time in tty after installation anyway.

I am more interested in the brightness after a fresh boot. Your's is reset to max, like mine, right?
I wish I could test this on my old X200s (1300kms away from me now).

To other thinkpad users, do you observe the auto max brightness after boot also?

No, the system remembers the brightness setting from the last boot, for both the TTY and X.

Thanks. At least this means that I am not completely crazy and that the brightness was persistent across reboots on my X200s.
