Default Mounting a second serial hd

Hello,

I am new to unix. I am running darwin, OS X, I am trying to view a new second hard drive I installed. The hard drive is formated under OS X, I am learning unix and Linux. I understand you have to mount the drive which should be located in the dev directory? I can see it in the volumes dir but I am not sure how to mount it and view my backup directories on it from the command line. These are what I have listed in my dev dir, how do I know which one is which drive?

disk0 disk0s1 disk0s3 disk1 disk1s1 disk1s3 disk2 disk2s1 disk3 disk4 disk4s1 disk4s2 disk5

Thank you,

Keith
