Default compile kernel error

I use FreeBSD 7 and I try enable PF so put this line in kernel and start compile kernel

Code:
options ALTQ
options ALTQ_CBQ # Class Bases Queuing (CBQ)
options ALTQ_RED # Random Early Detection (RED)
options ALTQ_RIO # RED In/Out
options ALTQ_HFSC # Hierarchical Packet Scheduler (HFSC)
options ALTQ_PRIQ # Priority Queuing (PRIQ)
options ALTQ_NOPCC # Required for SMP build
and start compile kernel by this step

Code:
cd /usr/src/sys/i386/conf
then

Code:
cp GENERIC GMFARIDISRV
then I put this options in kernel

Code:
options ALTQ
options ALTQ_CBQ # Class Bases Queuing (CBQ)
options ALTQ_RED # Random Early Detection (RED)
options ALTQ_RIO # RED In/Out
options ALTQ_HFSC # Hierarchical Packet Scheduler (HFSC)
options ALTQ_PRIQ # Priority Queuing (PRIQ)
options ALTQ_NOPCC # Required for SMP build
then I type

Code:
cd /usr/src
then I type

Code:
make buildkernel KERNCONF=GMFARIDISRV
and after build kernel I type

Code:
make installkernel KERNCONF=GMFARDISRV
after install kernel I reboot my system and after reboot I type this command

Code:
uname -a
and I see this

Code:
FreeBSD Mostafa.Faridi 7.0-STABLE FreeBSD 7.0-STABLE #0: Sat Jul 12 12:14:02 AFT 2008 Mostafa@Mostafa.Faridi:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GMFARIDISRV i386
when I install FreeBSD my FreeBSD was RELEASE but after compile kernel FreeBSD change to STABLE

I do not want STABLE I want RELEASE so I go to

Code:
/etc/stable-supfile
and change this line

Code:
default release=cvs tag=RELENG_7
to

Code:
default release=cvs tag=RELENG_7_0
and start compile again

when I type

Code:
make buildkernel KERNCONF=GMFARIDISRV
I see this error

Code:
Mostafa# make buildkernel KERNCONF=GMFARIDISRV

--------------------------------------------------------------
>>> Kernel build for GMFARIDISRV started on Sat Jul 12 20:01:53 AFT 2008

and I can not compile kernel again

Seems you've specified an unsupported or nonexistent option in your kernel configuration. Post the entire file as killasmurf suggested.

after I cvsup with 7_0 , I delete GNFARIDISRV kernel and make new KERNEL and modify it and began compile kernel without problem and right now my STABLE change to RELEASE

after update with cvsup I do not have stack option

but another question when I type

Code:
uname -a
I see this

Code:
FreeBSD Mostafa.Faridi 7.0-RELEASE-p2 FreeBSD 7.0-RELEASE-p2 #1: Sun Jul 13 11:16:48 AFT 2008 Mostafa@Mostafa.Faridi:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GMFARIDISRV i386
I see p2

what is mean P2 ?

why I do not have only RELEASE ?

My guess would be, perhaps you have patched kernel?

tag=RELENG_7_0_0_RELEASE gives you the same source code as is used to build the release CDs. This is the release branch.

tag=RELENG_7_0 gives you the source code for the release + any security fixes that have been made since the release. This is the security branch. Each commit to this branch increases the patch level by one. Hence the -pX after the version number. This is the tag you should be using.

tag=RELENG_7 gives you the latest source code from the 7-STABLE development branch. This branch is always changing, and will eventually become 7.1, and then 7.2, etc.

The kernel config GMFARIDISRV is based on STABLE, some options (such as STACK) may have been added to STABLE that are not in RELEASE.

Here is the GENERIC config for RELENG_7
http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/cvsweb.cg...h_tag=RELENG_7

And here for RELEASE_7_0:
http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/cvsweb.cg...tag=RELENG_7_0

Use diff(1) to spot differences and merge, i.e.
% diff -u GENERIC.stable GENERIC.release
