6.5 broke USB DAC
[Edit: should this be moved to OpenBSD General as it isn't really about Installing or upgrading?]
I noted that 6.5 introduced support for USB class 2 audio, I suppose the new driver is related to my issue. I have a USB Class 1 DAC, a JDS Labs "OL DAC". It works in 6.4, but not in 6.5. When I try to play audio in 6.5, or follow the example "$ cat > /dev/audio0 < /dev/zero &" from https://www.openbsd.org/faq/faq13.html#audioprob I get in xconsole: Code:

I found a similar error reported here: https://www.mail-archive.com/misc@op...msg166437.html but there wasn't really any progress with it. The error message "can't get iface handle" appears in this source code http://openbsd-archive.7691.n7.nabbl...-td358053.html which is from 5 months ago, probably the same driver that ended up in 6.5 I would be interested in whether anyone else is having this error and with what hardware, and thanks for any help. Edit: In 6.4 at bootup audioctl reports: nblks=2 blksz=960 Upon playing audio these values switch to: nblks=8 blksz=980 In 6.5 at bootup audioctl values are the same as for 6.4, but upon attempting to play something blksz changes to 980 but nblks stays at 2. If I set "audioctl nblks=8" it switches back to 2 when attempting to play audio. Edit2: After setting "rcctl set sndiod flags -b 7840 -z 980" the values for nblks and blksz in 6.5 became the same as for 6.4 upon attempting playback, but there was no sound and the error messages "can't get iface handle" persist. Same when I set "-b 15680 -z 980" which sets: $ audioctl nblks nblks=16 (just messing with it to see if I can kick it into life) I tried setting the -d flag to get diagnostic information from the sndiod driver but all that did it make loading of the sndiod driver timeout during bootup and the error messages were similar. If someone can tell me how to start a sndiod instance from the commandline with the -d flag and play audio to it I'll see if I can get some more error messages.
