Redmond reveals Azure Cloud Switch, its in-house software-defined networking OS

Sitting down? Nothing in your mouth?

Microsoft has developed its own Linux distribution. And Azure runs it to do networking.

Redmond's revealed that it's built something called Azure Cloud Switch (ACS), describing it as “a cross-platform modular operating system for data center networking built on Linux” and “our foray into building our own software for running network devices like switches.”

The funny thing is that on the Linux forums, they're saying Microsoft develops with BSD.

It was leaked a long time ago that they used Linux servers in house. They just make money out of the gullible.

In this case, I respectfully agree with Oko. (In the last thread where he requested this, I respectfully disagreed.)

As for the deleting of posts in thread, unless disk space is an issue, I don't think it will matter very much one way or the other, and the mslinux link is still a bit amusing after all these years,

Sigh, adding to the noise with no signal today, that's me.
