Default The road to 2009

What was the best and worst of your 2008?

I can't decide on what was worst, but for me the best is that it is now 2009!

2008 was overall a pretty good year for me. I graduated high school, started college, finally acquired a laptop, and added to my collection a great number of BSD and Unix-related books.

Speaking of which, the world of BSD seemed pretty positive throughout the year, didn't it? FreeBSD had 7.0 moved into the RELEASE branch, OpenBSD had a successful 4.4-release, HAMMER finally had its official inclusion in Dragonfly BSD, and the FreeBSD project celebrated 15 years of stylish Unix-like computing at MeetBSD 2008.

I don't know about everyone else, but I had a fun ride through the past year; let's all make sure that 2009 is equally awesome or better than '08!

This was a mixed year for me. I finally got a job in my field (IT/IS), which besides two killer semesters at my University (4.0 cumulative), is the only real good thing about 2008.

I'm aiming to make the best out of this next year, starting with today.

Happy new year, everyone.

This is pretty easy for me.

Best: Birth of my third daughter.

Worst: Loss of my best friend to cancer.

Talk about your rollercoasters! Here's hoping 2009 is a little less *extreme*.
