Thumbs down A couple of errors, which I believe are associated with the BIOS

Hi,
I've decided to rebuild my machine for what it is supposed to be orginally, and that is a gatway to the internet.

I played around with the BIOS a bit, which is what I think is causing the following errors. (Don't fix something that already works applies here).

Anyway the errors are:
SMM does not respond resetting

and

hptrr no controller detected

I believe these are occuring because of some change I made in the BIOS.

Can anyone help?

Thanking you in advance,
Jonathan.

PS-: I am running freeBSD 7.0, on an asus P4S800-MX SE

These errors look a little incomplete, but I'll give it a shot. I don't know what kind of BIOS settings your mobo has either, so if you can find a link to them, that would be helpful.

This is probably from a legacy USB controller. Try turning of legacy USB support in the BIOS.

hptrr is a RAID driver for Highpoint RocketRAID devices. This driver is built into the GENERIC kernel. Perhaps you have enabled some sort of RAID feature in you BIOS that is causing the driver to get loaded (mistakenly). You could also rebuild the kernel without this driver.
