First a big thanks to everyone on this site that has helped the rest of us. I trully understand the importance of reading the man pages, but was never willing to spend the time to actually learn the vernacular, so putting what I has just read to use was diffulcult to say the least.
I have taken the last three days reading various man pages and now have successfully installed openbsd on my toshiba laptop and have wireless (intel 3945) up and running. Man, do I feel like a total geek! I now have to figure out how to install fluxbox and I will be one happy camper. I have read every manpage I can find in regards to desktops environment but am unable to find any that detail the installation of any desktop. If any one can point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. I am willing to read :0 ) divadgnol67 |

@ocicat,
I have followed your advice and read section 15 and now have fluxbox, thunar and firefox35 up and running.Great! I also ran fluxbox-generate_menu but it did not pick up firefox and enter it into the menu, any advice? I did read fluxbox.README.OpenBSD file but did not see any reference to adding entries to the menu. Also, if there are any extras you can recommend, pleaes do. Thanks, divadgnol67 |
