In a 7.0.2/monolithic xorg current install, I'm running mc-4.8.17nb1 in uxterm without this problem. My setup uses an openchrome video driver that does not support kernel mode setting.
I did have a problem with some characters needing a locale specification which was solved by xterm => uxterm Last edited by shep; 11th December 2016 at 02:10 PM. |

I've only ever gotten wsmoused to work with text consoles, but haven't tried in quite some time. Last edited by IdOp; 12th December 2016 at 05:25 PM. Reason: add "VESA" |

Yes, I work in the console, X isn't running. In Wscons.conf I have no special option enabled. I use an Intel graphic card with acceleration(framebuffer), default is intelfb.
I remembered before drm2 it wasn't broken also in the shell it was enabled. Now I have no mouse cursor in the shell, motions clear in mc the background color(to black) and set the foreground color to white depending which text color is used. Of course in X mouse doesn't work(cannot open input device).

I wonder if this caveat from wsmoused(8) might explain the problem?:
