Default disc burner not working - possibly firmware issue

I have not used my cd burner since before upgrading OpenBSD to 6.3. When I try to use it now there is a problem. Trying to burn a disc with cdrecord results in this error message:
Code:
cdrecord: Cannot allocate memory. WARNING: Cannot do mlockall(2).
cdrecord: WARNING: This causes a high risk for buffer underruns.
cdrecord: Cannot allocate memory. Cannot get mmap for 4198400 Bytes on /dev/zero.
Out of curiosity I installed k3b and it cannot detect the device. So I ran dmesg and noticed this part:
Code:
"INT3F0D" at acpi0 not configured
"MSFT0001" at acpi0 not configured
"SYN2B39" at acpi0 not configured
"VPC2004" at acpi0 not configured

error: [drm:pid0:i915_gem_init_hw] *ERROR* Failed to initialize GuC, error -8 (ignored)
I do not know if this is the cause. If so, is my guess correct that the problem is simply a failure to install the required firmware during the last upgrade?

Everything else has worked fine since the upgrade half a year ago, so I am reluctant to jump to conclusions regarding firmware. I am too ignorant to know if the error message and dmesg output are related. All I know for certain is that cdrecord "cannot allocate memory" and k3b cannot see the device. I am assuming it is not a problem with fstab since the device is the only internal drive and did not need special mounting before.
