I'm sorry to read that. I hope you'll at least be able to remain active as a regular member. *Gives a pat on the back*

When I started my programming career, the veterans all said that you'll get to the point when you wont want to look at a computer outside of work. I thought they were all crazy...now I'm crazy! Now, you'll have more time to smoke carpets though!

Thanks for all your hard work and for hosting the forum. It's been very valuable to me since I've joined. I'm glad to hear you'll still be around and hosting it. All the best with the job and hopefully you'll have more time to refresh outside of it now.

If I'm not mistaken you're the one that has started this forums (plus others off course) after leaving sinking ship at former BSD community place. Since then, this forum has become a new "shelter" for us, "BSD guys".
This forum has been, and still is, a place that I enjoy reading (not regularly posting though) every day. So thanx from my side also, wish you all the best in your life in case you decide to leave forum for good. :beer:

I was going to say something yesterday when I noticed this just a few minutes after it was posted. I've been gone for quite a while and just happened to pop in then. What timing! Will you be around on the other forum?
Thanks for all your time and help here. |

Carpetsmoker, let me join the chorus of appreciation for your efforts over the last several years, including at the old site. Thank you for your time, and for sharing your skills and knowledge.

CS,
Thanks so much for all your work over the years. You created a site where a wonderful community developed, after the disaster that bsdforums became. I certainly understand about work demands -- I too have been swamped by the real world, where I choose to deal with electropherograms, proteins, and many coupled nonlinear ODEs and PDEs. Be well my friend! |
|
|||
Sorry to hear that, but thanks for all your help Martin

Add my belated thanks and appreciations to the chorus. A site like this is part of the fragile BSD ecosystem. The rest of us were and are the better for it and your personal underpinning of it.
Safe & swift way home to the hobby. Cheers, /S

Good to see so many familiar names and faces still here. I was one of you guys who signed up over here when that "other" forum became so spam-infested it was unusable but I have been away from BSD for awhile because of a few reasons like lack of time, lack of boxes etc. I hope to relearn and learn. We almost don't need moderators with the great members we have. Of course Ocicat will kick all our butts whether we need it or not.
