Default Getting console messages in xterm?

Is there a way to get console messages in xterm?

I thought I remembered reading on misc lately that this required symlinking .Xresources but I'm not finding the reference now.

Cluebats are welcomed!

Thanks!

I'm sure there are many ways. I just use $ tail -f /var/log/messages & because that's what I've used for decades.
