Default When will be possible install BSD system on extended partitions?

If all go well i would like let more space from use bsd solutions but unfortunately i have space especially on extended partition.
So the question is simple, there is any hope in the future for an eventual possibility in that directions?
Or the only solutions is wait solution as EFI (actually available only on Intel/mac) so it's possible overcome the limit of the few primary partition available for a single disk indipendently by his capacity?
