Fluctuating connection speeds OBSD 4.7
Hello again!
I have a question about my connection speed. Im on a 100/10 mbit connection. The problem is it goes up to 7-8, sometimes 10-11 MB/s only to drop down to a few kb then up again and so on. I have a vague memory reading about this somewhere that claimed that openbsd could have issues with high speeds. my dmesg, nat and if config attached thanks |

You should definitely try using a release that is supported, try reproducing your problem with the latest code available..
As for perceived limitations, OpenBSD has been and is used to handle links much faster than a 100Mbit connection, that isn't the problem. The dmesg in your attachment is mangled, likely copied from a terminal, redirect output to a file to preserve lines properly. |

Ok then that i will do. As i understand it i can/should only upgrade one version step at a time.
Although i would like to learn the upgrade process ill just reinstall with the latest version for now since that is likely to be faster for me. Ill test it in the near future and get back if i need any more help. Thanks |

Also realize that pf(4) has radically changed in the last several versions. Any existing ruleset will more than likely need to be modified. Studying the PF User's Guide is highly recommended as necessary reading material.
