Default Atheros ar9565

I've got a new netbook and I presumed because it was an atheros chip it would work with pretty much everything but I don't think OpenBSD has any support for this chip yet. Is there anything I can do?

Cheers.

I don't find mention of the AR9565 chip in either the ath(4) or athn(4) manpages, nor in a search the misc@ archives.

Many laptops today offer multiple USB ports, & as long as one is USB2, dedicating it to a USB wireless dongle isn't a world-ending alternative. I have found urtwn(4) to be quite satisfactory, & Realtek USB2 dongles are cheap too. eg.

Other vendors may be cheaper still.

Nothing. Other than your kernel can identify the hardware. There's still no working driver for the chipset (yet).

What you can do ranges from offering to help test when a driver appears to writing a driver yourself. Pick where ever on that spectrum you feel you best fit.

Semi-update: I've bought an AR9280 pci-e chip, it will be here on Thursday. From reading athn(4) it should work
