claws-mail crash during filtering
Lately, claws-mail has begun to crash while filtering messages in my primary account. According to the claws-mail -d output, it tries to start another instance of itself, and fails saying 'can't run more than one.'
The @misc, @ports, and the claws-mail user list are unresponsive. I filed a claws-mail bug, and was told "but it doesn't try to start itself". Has anybody encountered this sort of thing? I've long had a problem with extended search in folders with lots of messages, but this is recent. |

I switched to Sylpheed a few years ago, I can't exactly remember why. I think it was because Claws Mail was a bit too slow to deal with a high number of messages.
They are very similar and it's easy to switch. You can replicate your configuration at least while you're facing this problem. |

Thanks, I'll look into that if the problem recurs - I cleaned out some duplicate and antiquated filter rules and it's behaving better for the time being.
