Not sure if you have seen this.
The link is a little dated and does not describe the install option of a usb drive. Installation from two 1.44 mb floppies is still doable and old, viable floppy drives tend to be cheaper than a new cdrom. Also, before you put alot of time into setting up 5.2 be aware that 5.3 is due to be released May 1. |

Yes, I saw this page.
USB boot is not possible, because OBP doesn't have this option on my workstation. Floppy install could be a solution, right, but I think you misunderstood me. I don't intend to buy a new CD-drive, just new CD-RW discs. My old CD-RW disc is a 13 or 15 years old CD, I think it's the source of the mess. So, I bought new CDs to burn, and I'll try just after the dinner. I also know 5.3 will be released soon, I use 5.3 snapshots on my OpenBSD VM. I just want to try the Blade now, I'll install 5.3 later. So I won't install ftpd, mysql or my documents on the Blade now. I've got my OpenBSD 5.1 PC for that |

I was right : my CD-RW disc was the source of the trouble.
I tried with a new disc, the machine recognized the CD and launched the CD boot. Now, another trouble. OBP tells me : Code:
Following devices are disabled : ide The tip I found : Code:
To fix, send a stop-A (Ctrl-A F in minicom), you should have the OBP ok prompt : {1} ok .asr {1} asr-clear {1} reset-all |

Worked fine.
The .asr command returns : Code:
ok>.asr ide Disabled by FWDIAGS OBDIAG failure Of course, I cannot install anything, diskless Blade. But boot works, and I can access a minimal shell. But the OBP screen is awful, black on white, and really slow. |

It's only possible to do a floppy install on Ultra 1/1E, Ultra 2, SPARCengine Ultra AX, AXe and AXi. So, floppy install is not possible on a Blade workstation. On a Blade, there's only 3 possibilities :
