Cool Dual-booting WinXP, FreeBSD; unlikely disk geometry

Hello. I am trying to install FreeBSD 7. I have WinXP on one partition. The MBR is the WinXP MBR. I try to install FreeBSD 7 but when I get to the fdisk utility it tells me that the disk geometry seems incorrect and instead it will try a different (more likely) disk geometry. I don't want to continue because I don't want my WinXP partition to be wrecked. Also, when I go into my BIOS there does not appear to be any disk geometry information. Has anyone had any similar experiences and can you suggest what I should do? Thank you.

Note, my hard drive is a SATA drive with about 150GB. My WinXP partition is about 80GB, and I want a 20GB partition for FreeBSD 7.

That is a harmless error message. The fix for it will be removing the error message, and doing it silently.

It's all about the way hard drives and interfaces present systems with the numbers they like to see, and remap things.

Keep going. The castle is just trying to scare you.

I believe this error message has been around for *years*.

It's not an error message, it's a notification ... Although it's a bit of a notorious one since many new people are very confused by it.
