What movie is this?
I don't know where else to ask this; I don't browse many other forums and don't know a website where I can ask this sort of thing...but in any case, this movie is technology-related so maybe someone here has seen it.
I remember the main character narrating in the beginning how some eco-terrorists or something set off this EMP to take out every computer in the world and wiped all the data so there's no electricity, technology, etc. I think the main character said the only country left surviving was Britain. But I only want to remember what movie this was to look up a word I had forgotten. The word meaning is when a nation/world is thrown back into the Stone Age, though not necessarily by means of terrorism. |

There are a lot of scifi post-apocalyptic movies, this particular one sounds an awful lot like Children of Men perhaps.. except for where it doesn't.
Maybe it's on the following list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_apocalyptic_films If it isn't, can you attempt to narrow it down a bit further? actors/years? have you looked on IMDB? |

I've checked that list. I know it was made post-2000 since I watched it in theaters a few years ago, but I can't for the life of me remember any of the actors. I think it was an actor I liked then, because usually I don't watch these type of films which probably explains why I only remember it so vaguely. I've checked IMDB of my favorite British actors, and I've come up blank.
The only reason I'm searching is because of that stupid word, so if anyone knows the term for it, feel free to shout. I think it was something similar to 'blackout' but with a different color (I've tried the rainbow colors as prefixes on Google) or maybe it wasn't. I don't even know why I'm obsessed over figuring out what this term is. |

Dark age, fire storm, oh **** it's raining pancakes?
My vote is dark age, at least I've not known any other term for it that involves a colour. Perhaps if one digs deeper into cultural references there might be more :-/

If it not Children of Men, then maybe 28 Days Later

But there are no eco-terrorists or EMP bombs being set off in either. And technology is still as advanced as our world. In Children of Men there is a bomb going off near the start but it is conventional. As for 28 Days Later, it is about a "rage" epidemic.

IMHO posting the same question on http://imdb.com forums would bring the answer a lot faster

Ah, I didn't actually think of that...I do post on IMDB message boards for specific movies but didn't think of looking to see if they had a general forum.

My son (a professional actor) is a whiz at this stuff. I'll see what he comes up with later today.
|
|

Is he a famous actor?

Was his fourth feature film released in February or March of 2009? He's 21 now, right? The wikipedia article on the pixar computer neither credits nor lists the designers or builders. |

It could be Dark Angel (although it's a series and not a movie per-se).

I don't remember that happening in Dark Angel.
