Default Firefox profile not saving

I am currently running FreeBSD 7.0 and Gnome 2.22. I have also installed Firefox 2, however it won't save any of my settings, e.g. Addons. It also forgets all my passwords when I close it.

Has anyone else has similar problems? :/

Issue the following command, take a look at those files, do you have the right to write them? If not, chown and chmod them.

\ls -al ~/.mozilla/firefox

Thanks for the reply. Ive already tried that and it has full access. The firefox folder is empty however , so it isn't writing to it for some strange reason. Also running from the console shows no errors

Default Firefox

No it isn't that the Firefox settings, I believe there is a weird issue with my machine. I have tried the following things:

- Removed ~/mozilla, checked permissions, etc.. Still no luck
- Checked all the settings in Firefox, still no luck.
- Completely removed and reinstalled Firefox, and followed guides on their site about removing settings and dodgy plugins, still nothing
- Installed Firefox 3 Beta 5, which half works. It now remembers my last visited sites, but the plugin manager won't save any plugins. I tried to install Adblock, it downloads it, asks me to restart and it disappears. It never appears in the ~/Mozilla/Firefox/Profile/Plugins directory.

I am pretty baffled as why I am having so much trouble :/
