Default curious ?

Reading The Whats New Portion Of OpenBSD 5.6 (website)

"Use standard routines from the C library (malloc, strdup, snprintf...) instead of rolling our own, sometimes badly. "

above statement was observed.

Does anyone know what was affected by the above statement in General ?

You've missed a lot of very public discussion.

A précis of the changes and reasoning can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LibreSSL#Changes

Oh, yes. Here's an hour of Bob Beck presenting on LibreSSL at BSDCan. I found it very helpful!
