Been on BSDforums for a few years on a daily basis, though i had never done more than 3 post. Mainly using it as a guide on how certain problems can be solved. Spam is defintely a problem there in BSDForums and a wise choice to setup this alternative. Nice seeing all the regulars here as well. Pretty sure it will be the best BSD forum soon. Its the people and the contents that make a good forum.

The site is a bit sluggish from the UK too.

I didn't participate much at bsdforums.org, I mainly used the forums as a reference to help supplement the FreeBSD handbook. While a fresh start is always nice it is shame that all the information built up over the last 6 years might be lost.

congrats!

but something needs to be done about the theme it looks depressing.
we need something sexier ... <hint> Vermaden and other artists.
I mailed Carpetsmoker about that ugly default theme (phpBB3 looked better), but he said that other things are more important now.

As for ready to use themes, this one is PERFECT*

*I will just do sed/IE_SHIT/GREAT_DAEMON/g with it and it will be great.

I am also ready to d oany other graphics as needed (buttons/banners/...)

I'll think about it when the GNU/Linux forums get flooded with Ubuntu stuff...

I suggest you no matter how good your transcript is, it is not a good idea to post it in public.

Also, the subforum for linux is more than enough, this is forum dedicated for BSD and there is no good reason for creating a new subforum just for ubuntu

Howdy gents!

I made the transition as well... probably the last from the 'old bunch'...

The site looks great... and revives my interest completely.

... now accepting networking questions for OpenBSD... though most of you seasoned veterans could easily teach me a thing or two.

Great work, folks for this forum!

I was gone for a while and when I recently came back online I saw what is going on with BSDForums..

It's a pity that we lost such a place like BSDForums, but I'm happy with this new home of the BSD systems!

Cheers to all and once again - great job!

After 3 weeks and our forum hasnt showed up within the first 50 results from google with key words "unix forum", "bsd forum" or "freebsd forum".

Google can yeild different results based on user's location but I guess it doesnt make any significant difference here.

Anyway, keep up the good work guys

Google ranks are highly overrated.

Also, it takes time to get a decent ranking in google
