Default Thank you Carpetsmoker

I want to thank Carpetsmoker for putting this forum together after the old forum drown in torrents of spam. Although ownership of the web site/forum has recently transfered, I appreciate the time and effort that went into this.

I went ahead an posted this as a poll with several options:

Thank you Carpetsmoker
Thank you j65nko
Thank you ocicat

You can only thank one person in your poll. And all three deserve our thanks for establishing and maintaining our community.

I would like to make special mention of the work over the last week: J65nko put in long hours configuring, provisioning, and restoring this server and its functions.

As someone who was around during that change, but hasn't been very active since the beginnings of the forums, I too would like to add my thanks to all three of them for all their help and efforts over the years, from the old privately owned FreeBSD forums that went under, through the present day. (Hopefully Martin still sees these posts).

Sorry. My initial intent was to allow readers to click their appreciation with a poll. Unfortunately, a poll requires a minimum of 2 options. At that point I added j65nko and ocicat. I agree, all three are deserving.

Ditto!

PS - Hi scottro! I hope NY is treating you well (even with all the snow we've had in the northeast this winter...).

Wow, another blast from the past. Yes, the snow and cold are a nuisance, but not too bad. We had BSDCon NYC today, and I had to laugh. There was a little group of Michael Lucas, Dan Langille, Wietse Venema, and me. I thought, My goodness, how did I get in this group. (Actually I was talking to Dan, who introduced me to the others.) It was sort of a fanboy moment for me.

I am very thankful for the efforts of Carpetsmoker, j65nko, ocicat, and vermaden. This forum is an invaluable resource for all of us; it enables us to better manage our BSD systems. First rate!

I will add my words of thanks to Carpetsmoker j65nko etc...; this is the most interesting and useful forum for sharing with fellow BSD aficionados, especially OpenBSD. Heaps of hearty thanks
