Tight OpenBSD Wallpapers.
Forgive me, but I took images of Puffy I found on the web and made some really nice Wallpapers for my desktop with them. I was wondering if Puffy is covered by the BSD License. I'd like to put them on this forum for all the OpenBSD users, so they can have open source OpenBSD wallpapers for their OpenBSD boxes.
I'm not sure about the copyright and legality of redistributing modified images of Puffy as wallpapers for free, but I don't want to get sued. If anyone is interested, you can send me an email requesting a few wallpapers as that seems to be circumventing any dubious legality of copyright material per Puffy and the OpenBSD team. Basically, does anyone want to see my wallpapers with Puffy and some crazy colorful abstract backgrounds? |

Thanks for your input. I think I will try and contact Theo, I'm getting all my OpenBSD artwork together, so he can view all the work if he's interested.

Since you may potentially be circulating material in which you do not hold the copyright, it would be to your benefit to maintain a copy of any conversation (email or otherwise...) held with the copyright owners.

I've sent a message to Theo last night, I'm awaiting a reply. Thanks for the heads up.

First Ten OpenBSD wallpapers.
Most of my wallpapers are long, so set your desktop to display it with a black background and fit in desktop. You have a long bar in the middle of you desktop with the images going across.

Next Ten OpenBSD Wallpapers.
Here are ten more.

Last Set.
If you need these files as XPMs, install ImageMagick and type: convert wallpaperName.jpg newWallPaperName.xpm. That's it.

Those look an awful lot like my modified puffy avatar.

I didn't know it was your avatar pic.
I can draw you a new Puffy for your avatar doing whatever you want.

No thanks, I was just playing around with gimp one day.

You must be good at gimp.
It would take me a while on photoshop to get that right.

I'm not a good GIMP but i did save a few of those wallpapers, some are pretty cool looking.

Feel free to crop Puffy out of these images and use the backgrounds anyway you like. I've been working with Photoshop for a very long time. Doing things in it have become second nature. I've been playing around with the GIMP and learning it is a lot easier now that I know Photoshop. I'm a little slower in the GIMP b/c I don't have the keyboard shortcuts memorized like I do in Photoshop. But GIMP is just as good if not better. There are things I like about both and things I dislike about both. In the end, I think what you make matters not how you made it.
