Missing packages in i386 7.1
Hi,
I installed NetBSD 7.0.2 i386 some time ago and added xfce4 firefox and several other programs via pkgin. Last week I tried to install a new 7.1.1 and found that many packages (xfce4, firefox, etc.) missing in ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/pkgsrc/pack...D/i386/7.1/All . Why are they missing and can I get the somewhere else? Thanks Marcus |

So I should be patient that the packages will appear later and use 7.0_2017Q2 instead? Which is the newest containing the packages I need.
I noticed that In 7.0 they are also missing. 7.0 points to 7.0_2017Q4. I expected that every package is also available in later versions. |

I reported an issue with libgssapi in another thread. The 7.0 packages are apparently compiled with libgssapi.so.10 and if you look at /usr/lib in 7.1.1 it has version libgssapi.so.11.
There is a pkgsrc-bulk mailing list and it appears that they are still working the bugs out of the 7.1 build system. The "nils . netbsd" build reports are only for about 1600 packages. http://mail-index.netbsd.org/pkgsrc-bulk/ At this point in time your options are to compile from pkgsrc or wait. Edit/Addendum: If you are hunkering down with inclement weather, and need an indoor project, NetBSD 8.0beta has pkg builds at the main site. I do find it interesting at a "Beta" version has more native packages than the most recent stable release. http://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/pkgsrc/pac....0_2017Q4/All/ Last edited by shep; 13th January 2018 at 02:57 AM. For i386 there is not much in 8.0. Not in ftp nor in nyftp.
I am wondering why there are othen language packages for firefox but not firefox program package. Maybe I should build it from source at the moment I use 7.1.1 with the packages from 7.0.2017Q2. Except from samba and gfvs it works fine. |

I just finished putting together a 7..1.1 amd64 system from source. Unless your i386 system is fast Firefox (57.0.4) takes much longer to build than Friefox52 (esr, 52.5). 57.05 needs to build lang/clang, lang/rust and lang/gcc-49 as dependencies. One the other hand, the 57 release series is faster at rendering pages.
