Mounting Samba from OpenBSD
Hi all,
how can I mount a samba remote folder on another computer from my laptop OpenBSD? On FreeBSD I can do mount -t cifs LOCAL_FOLDER -o rw mount -t smbfs //REMOTE_FOLDER But on OpenBSD there is no smbmount of mount -t cifs. I opened a question on Twitter, but I had no answer :-( https://twitter.com/joancatala/statu...89243870482432 Is anybody here using Samba on OpenBSD as a client? |

OpenBSD does not have, and has never had, a -t cifs option for mount.
You will need to use sysutils/usmb or smbclient from net/samba to mount your shares. Alternatively, if you have software that can use it, you could use gvfs-smb from x11/gnome/gvfs. |

Hi ibara,
thanks for your information. I will investigate this. By the way, do you have any information/post/examples about usmb? Thanks very much. |
