NetBSD pre-release 5 doesn`t boot
Hello everybody
Several times I tried to boot NetBSD installation CD (5.) "current" on my old Notebook (Compaq Armada e500). It doesn`t matter which kernel I choose to boot, it stop always at the same point with the error message: Stopped in pid 0.1 (system) at netbsd :X intr_legacy11 , push I cannot copy and paste dmesg because I have no I-net connection to the notebook. Others do also have this problem with 5 pre-release, I`ve read in another forum, and some don`t. Any ideas? I hope they will fix this issue to the release. |

If you really want to address this issue, I would recommend monitoring the current-user@ mailing list, reading through its archives for similar discussions, & post if you don't find any salient information. Archives can be found at:
http://mail-index.netbsd.org/ ...& subscription information can be found at the following: http://netbsd.org/mailinglists/curr current-users@ is read by people with more knowledge of 5.0 than most here. |

What's with the version 5 installation CD (I didn't know there was such a thing yet)?
I'd say install 4.0.1, and then if you need or want to use 5-beta, download the sources from CVS and build world.

From here: ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD-daily/ i386 iso doesn`t book on my notebook. I tried different images, and always got the same error. Notebook is ok. I had several FreeBSD releases installed on it. I will try the mailinglist to get some help. |
