I agree with site, it's a funny plate... but why exactly do you call him a "noob"?

I guess because rm -rf * is a ``typical noob mistake''.

I find it's quite effective if you're in the right directory, rm -rf / would be the typical "noob" mistake.

... but rm -rf / is harmless on FreeBSD:
# rm -rf /
rm: "/" may not be removed

Well, I just did this today (rm -rf *), but I knew what I was doing. It was in a directory that I wanted to get rid of. Power is wonderful!

rofl@revzalqt

I don't care much for the cars hind end, but the license plate is nice ;-). I'm also glad to say, I've never shot myself in the foot with rm'ing with globs -- much nicer then a safety-bin to fill up until it auto-cleans haha.

Aren't the subdirectories of / sunlnk'd to prevent such drastic actions?

I think no.

Gor example you have a /usr.bkp dir or even /boot.bkp dir, you just want to replace the messed one, and you cant do that then:
# rm -rf /usr
# mv /usr /usr.bkp

You will could go to /usr adn rm -rf * there and then rename it but, whats the point generally ...

I wish I took a picture but I bought my sister-in-law's car but she's in Texas so had to have it shipped up to me. The truck arrived yesterday to drop it off but first he had to remove the cars that were in front of it. Off came the Lamborghini. Off came the Bentley. Then my little Ford Focus.

Hmm. Did the truck driver load them in that order so he would get more opportunities to drive the Lambo and Bentley?

That's funny!

A coworker and I were in downtown Miami the other day and we saw a Lambo about to get towed away after a little fender-bender with another car. The tow-truck guy was standing in front of it, taking one of those self-pics so popular on MySpace with his cell phone... like "check me out with the Lambo!"
