Default custom kernel problem

Hi people,
i have problem and found some articles about that on few forums. On my FBSD 8.0 machine using custom kernel. Binary update have patches for kernel, and install me new generic kernel. I found article from few users who have custom kernel, and read it should download kernel source with cvs. Using cvs i configure all with handbook RELENG_8_0, but when install kernel and run binary update he install again new generic kernel.
