Default Kde4 & other help needed..

I've installed kde4 but have come up against a few problems.

Can't create /dev/cd0.
Eject doesn't properly work.
Keyboard rate not adjustable. Where's it at in the control panel?
No icons for mounted media. Again the control panel.

adding to /etc/devfs.conf:

Code:
link /dev/acd0 /dev/cd0
Would probably deal with the cd issue when the system restarts, assuming you've got acd's and need them aliased to cd's on startup.

Default beep

I need to make all users home folders inaccessible to all others. I've come up on a problem of a link that cannot be given permission.
Do I need to change the folder ownership from root and not user?

Add keyrate="fast" to /etc/rc.conf.

/dev/acd* is for ATAPI CD-ROM drives.
/dev/cd* is for SCSI CD-ROM drives.

In order to get /dev/cd* entries for ATAPI CD-ROM drives, you just have to load atapicam.ko.
