Angry problem(s) after opera upgrade

the latest opera has caused 1 >> 2 problems here
(had to post from Firefox...) details below
..................
problem 1 )) the prior version shows the link hovering
when the mouse is over a link, showing what the site
would be when the link is clicked. GONE. slows browsing
down considerably. An extensive google search failed
to resolve ( due to my lack of expertise on what that
propery of html is called (maybe) )
................
problem 2) I attempted to fix that with various preferences without
success. Suddenly, all the BLUE is gone in daemonforums
and links do not work (like , I could no click on "forum tools"
; it had no effect; so I had to log on with Firefox.
... do not know if that would be fixed with a reinstall or not or
what caused it. ANYONE KNOW?
.....................
this is the first site I've used after attempting to fix the first
problem above so I do not yet know how many sites are affected
by the latter problem.

okay, the BLUE GONE is fixed by
User Mode >> Author Mode. (problem 2)
.................
the Link problem is still there... (problem 1)

................
posting again from Opera. .
in at least one forum, it is drasticaly
BETTER in readability. (a forum
not affected by the first problem
in any way)

- Open Appearance windows, by default the hotkey is Shift F12

- Button tab

- Status

- Drag and drop Status field to anywhere of the status bar

Thanks. Your suggestion I did not try because:
upon reboot/reload of Opera, the "target link"
shows not hovering, but just as well, in the
toolbar at the bottom of the page ( the one
that shows the current zoom level of the page).
(whatever it is called).
So all problems seem FIXED for now afaik.
.....................
WHATEVER that toolbar-at-the-bottom is called,
the hovering summary of posts (before clicking the link)
is one-long-line-upon-it, in addition to the
floating box at the post itself (in one forum at least)
making it A WHOOOOOOLE LOT easier to read
and comprehend...
