Default Wired/Optical Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0 installation

Hi

I've FreeBSD-7.0 Release (ISO burned from FTP-Default Seting) installed on my PC.

Recently, I add a Wired/Optical Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0, and of course new source of trouble!
It's work on TextMode, UMS0 is on, Kernel catch it as a true one (5button Microsft Mouse ...), but freeze of the middle of GNOME/KDE (I think it's a Xorg problem).
I search for xorg.conf in all path(s) that mentioned in Xorg.conf Man page.
no xorg.conf was found. I try make one and add to this empty file a "Section" in old style : Mouse instead of InputDevice . Result : GDM didn't work.

I'm sorry to say I haven't review Man pages & Handbook Throughly and of course there's some Semi-Same topic in the Forum. A little Lazy Stuff!

Thanks for Reply.
Bye

You have to install xorg and then configure it. To configure it follow the steps on http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en/books/.../x-config.html.

If it is working in text mode, then you need to use /dev/sysmouse as the device in X, not /dev/ums0.

the system mouse driver automatically bounces all mouse events to /dev/sysmouse , so X servers can pick them up.
