Default Improve searches

I'm finding the search behaviour restrictive or non-intuitive.

A search for KDE returns nothing, as does KDE 4, or "KDE 4" (specifiying quotations.

One word searches should be sufficient in most circumstances, barring "the" "and" etc.

A good improvement would be to make the quotation marks force searching full phrase.

This is not something I can control, we just use the vBulletin search.

An alternative might be google using query like:
KDE site:daemonforums.org

I've seen google search embedded into sites, but was unaware that I could use a sqitch in google for the site. They are crafty people those Googlewhackers.
