Default IRIX/4Dwm -themed E16

I tried to emulate the IRIX Indigo Magic Desktop on Enlightenment16 as far as I could, and here's the result

Talking OPEN LOOK desktop on NetBSD/i386 -current

olvwm + some Open Look/Xview apps I retrieved on obscure ftp servers and somehow patched (not always I succeded) to run on modern NetBSD; the underlying machine is high-end Acer TravelMate bought in 2001, originally coming with Windows ME pre-installed, equipped with a Pentium 4 NetBurst, 512 GB RAM, 60 GB IDE HDD, 3.5-inch floppy and optical drive.

Just got a second hand Thinkpad X240, put NetBSD 9.0 on it, with a CGD encrypted FFSv2 root. Built a minimal (11MB) monolithic hardened (full KASLR, PaXSegvguard, Veriexec...) kernel.
Finally have the chance to test this new release on hardware with good-enough specs: running smooth; surprisingly, everything works, including 3D acceleration, wifi, backlight control, webcam, touchpad/trackpad, XHCI, and bluetooth.

Imported my last FVWM2config from FreeBSD, attaching a screenschot

Here is mine. NetBSD user since this past May or so. Tried it in the past but didn't settle in. This time I think will be different.

Nice, and when on NetBSD I use ctwm, sadly my NetBSD box gave up the ghost, I used it as a rsync system and some development. On that box I was able to recover some data of old DOS diskettes using the rump kernel. Other systems had major problems reading those diskettes. I had a few dumps, but since it was rump the system stayed stable.

A bit off-topic, but ...

Any issues booting the CDROM on your R51 ? I have an R51e and could not get NetBSD to boot, that was 2 or 3 years ago (8.x or maybe 7.x, forgot) and ended up putting another BSD on it.

I will download and try 9.1 soon, but if there there was something special you had to do please let me know

Thanks
John

PS, I love the 4:3 screen of the R51, which is why I keep it around and use it except for WEB browsing

I succesfully booted the .img file off a USB stick (surpisingly, is seems at the time IBM had introduced the capability of booting from flash drives in BIOS already) , and haven't tried booting *BSD from CD-ROM as the thinkpad was previously running OS/Warp

Yeah fond of that aspect ration as well, and TBH web browsing on w3m, dillo o netsurf is still quite feasible nonetheless

Dark monochrome ctwm theme, with squeezed titles and 3D borders, for a fresh NetBSD 9.2 installation on a 2015 Asus 555L laptop. Root resides on a CGD encrypted LVM volume (required a bit of reading).
