Default I'm looking for a music text based music player that can play .m4p and .m4a formats

I want to get away from Amarok, it takes lots of resources and has been very unstable lately. I need a player that can play .m4p, .m4a and mp3. I would prefer a text based application i have cmus and mp3blaster can anyone of these be configured to play .m4p and .m4a?

Maybe you can usggest a program to convert all my m4p and m4a to mp3

Thank you in advanced

Did you try mplayer? It can play most formats...

mplayer/mencoder can play/convert mp4 files.

mpd supports those formats, I believe. You can use a number of frontends for it. My favorite is ncmpc, which is an ncurses-based client.
