Xorg sluggishness
My system: 7.0-RELEASE #0
Hardware: Dell Optiplex GX270 Hello, since I installed a few Xorg and graphics card driver updates a few weeks ago my desktop has become very sluggish, I don't know whether its Xorg or the graphics driver but the drawing of objects on screen and minimising and restoring windows is now very slow and it wasn't like this before I updated the Xorg and driver related ports. Is this to do with the gettimeofday() issue that FreeBSD had/has with Xorg? See below for my hardware and installed ports details: Graphics Card: vgapci0@pci0:0:2:0: class=0x030000 card=0x01511028 chip=0x25728086 rev=0x02 hdr=0x00 vendor = 'Intel Corporation' device = '82865G Integrated Graphics Device' class = display Display Driver xf86-video-intel-2.2.1 Xorg Server/library version xorg-libraries-7.3_2 X.org libraries meta-port xorg-server-1.4_8,1 X.Org X server and related programs |

I didn't change anything in xorg.conf but here is the relevant section I believe:
Section "Device" ### Available Driver options are:- ### Values: <i>: integer, <f>: float, <bool>: "True"/"False", ### <string>: "String", <freq>: "<f> Hz/kHz/MHz" ### [arg]: arg optional #Option "NoAccel" # [<bool>] #Option "SWcursor" # [<bool>] #Option "ColorKey" # <i> #Option "CacheLines" # <i> #Option "Dac6Bit" # [<bool>] #Option "DRI" # [<bool>] #Option "NoDDC" # [<bool>] #Option "ShowCache" # [<bool>] #Option "XvMCSurfaces" # <i> #Option "PageFlip" # [<bool>] Identifier "Card0" Driver "intel" VendorName "Intel Corporation" BoardName "82865G Integrated Graphics Controller" BusID "PCI:0:2:0" As I said, it was working fine until I updated some X related ports and drivers. |
