Default Transferring Forum Information

Hello,

I am involved with a small community forum and we've decided to switch forum software. We are currently running on Proboards (really bad forum) and we are switching to SimpleMachines. This will also be hosted on a new site.

We have a little over 3000 posts in approximately 75 threads from 30 members. Is there a way to transfer that information and the user account information to the new forum?

Normally I would say.. export and convert the SQL database on the old forum to a file, but "ProBoards" appears to be a free forum hosting site..

According to this, they don't provide database access(Unless you pay), but someone wrote a script.

(I can't confirm anything, I believe you need to sign up to see the attachments..)

Thanks. But, unfortunately, all such information has been expunged at ProBoards request. So, I guess we will have to start from scratch. At least I know that SimpleMachines won't be as horrendous as ProBoards was - and the ironic thing is that ProBoards actually charges for their forum software; and people actually pay it!

Anyway, I guess we'll start again from square one - at least we didn't have a million posts that we're losing.
