Flash for Firefox
I just pkg_add'd Gnash, but upon starting my Firefox browser, it doesn't seem to be detected. I went to 'about: plugins' [space added between 'about:' and 'plugins' to interrupt automatic forum smiley face], and Gnash doesn't show as installed. Are there some files I have to move over or something?

You might find something in an old undeadly article on Flash on OpenBSD useful: http://undeadly.org/cgi?action=artic...20070907181228 If you need seamless integration of Flash, OpenBSD may not be your best choice. |

I haven't installed 4.8 yet. Anybody try Minitube?

I am actually willing to give up Flash, for the sake of security anyway. Like Oko if I really need it I'll boot up a LiveCD or external drive. Not sure how well VM is supposed in OpenBSD, but the idea of it seems like another security risk anyway

Eventually YouTube will move all their videos to using HTML5's video and audio elements and this will be a problem of the past. Some of the videos already have been ported over.

There was a statement from one of the employees going as far as saying that the Flash player will not be replaced entirely. Right now on OpenBSD you can use the Midori browser to play some stuff on YouTube, but it appears only MP4 content is working.. I only get audio for WebM content. I typically just yell at people who post links to YouTube, it's easier. |

And it always works.
