Default Upgrade version 5.7 to 5.8

Hello to all,

I use the miter to keep my updated version 5.7.
I wonder if it is possible to upgrade to the 5.8 also by mtier.

Thanks!!

You may upgrade from -stable to -stable in exactly the same way you upgrade from -release to -release. Do review the Project's Upgrade Guide.

I am not an M:Tier user, but looking at the description of binpatches, these are updates to the base -release system provided as OpenBSD packages.

If you are not an openup user, I would assume you would:
  1. pkg_delete 5.7 binpatches
  2. upgrade
  3. pkg_add 5.8 binpatches
Looking at their openup script, it appears to check for this and manually deletes old binpatch package metadata for you. So if you are an openup user, you only need to upgrade then run openup.

If you want more detailed instructions, you should contact M:Tier support -- there are links for both Email and Twitter support on their website.
