root waiting for
Hi!
My system: FreeBSD 8.2-RELEASE-p3 #0: Tue Sep 27 18:07:27 UTC 2011 /etc/fstab looks like: Code:
Device Mountpoint FStype Options Dump Pass# /dev/ad0s1b none swap sw 0 0 /dev/ad0s1a / ufs rw 1 1 /dev/ad0s1e /tmp ufs rw 2 2 /dev/ad0s1f /usr ufs rw 2 2 /dev/ad0s1d /var ufs rw 2 2 /dev/acd0 /cdrom cd9660 ro,noauto 0 0 I have a HP Business Inkjet 3000 printer which is connected through router but I did also try to connect with USB and from this time (I think) I have" root waiting to: usbus4". dmesg shows: Quote:

Does the system continue to boot when you remove the USB device (printer in this case)?, I believe this is a known issue, but did not investigate at this point, the more important (and probably unrelated) issue seems:
Quote:
You mentioned you ran memtest, how long did you run memtest? Make sure you run it for *at least* several hours. And if possible at least a day. Detecting memory issues is not as easy at it might look at first glance (See the README in the memtest86+ source package for details). Another possibility is overheating, especially if the problem occurs when compiling stuff. Getting the CPU/system temperature varies a bit from system to system, take a look at coretemp(4) for Intel systems or amdtemp(4) for AMD systems. Posting your full dmesg may also help, so we know what system/cpu/chipset/etc. you're using.

I had printer connected with usb just ten minutes and because didn't work correct I installed cups and connect printer to the broadband router and it works good. I don't have a problem to boot computer. Today I updated gcc 4.5 and gcc 4.6 and was nothing wrong. Later try to update kdegames4 and when I came back computer was frozen. But after next try it was success and it works still. Here is dmesg (I am charging my phone now): Code:

Thank you very much, Carpetsmoker. I will try today. I need to check the fan on processor. Computer is old about eleven years but FreeBSD works excellent .
Mitja P.S. I ran clamav and yesterday I turned off before compiling and computer running still... |
