Chromium in 6.5
Hi All -- After 6.5, Chromium does not run the second time (after installation) on my machine. I have to delete the directory under .config and .cache.
I came across this report which seems to be exactly my situation ...but did not see any fix... http://openbsd-archive.7691.n7.nabbl...-td364835.html Is this the current state - or is there a workaround ? Or have i missed some permissions when installing Chromium ? thanks |

Chromium on OpenBSD began using the unveil(2) security enhancement with release 6.5. It limits the application's ability to access non-standard storage locations. As an example, you might be using a non-standard location for your ~/Downloads directory.
To determine if this is your root cause, run chromium with the --disable-unveil option, and note if there are any changes in behavior. |

I'm running www/iridium (privacy enhanced chrome fork) on a new 6.5 install without issues. I did save my prior ~/.config/iridium and reused it on the new install.
This would suggest several things you could try. 1) See if you get the same behavior with Iridium. 2) Copy your ~/.config/chromium over from another Linux/BSD system - perhaps unveil is preventing the writing of a needed run option to your home directory. 3) If Iridium works, rename the ~/.config directory to chromium. |
