Default Apache 2 problems

I am running OpenBSD 5.8 amd64 and just installed Apache2 from the packages collection. When I try and run apachectl configtest it gives this error

Code:
root / # apachectl configtest
httpd: unknown option -- t
usage: httpd [-dnv] [-D macro=value] [-f file]
Now apachectl start will run the server and it appears to work however it can't be stopped with apachectl stop

Code:
root / # apachectl start
/usr/sbin/apachectl start: httpd started
root / # apachectl stop
/usr/sbin/apachectl stop: httpd (no pid file) not running
I tried adding the PidFile option to the config but nothing is ever written to /var/run/apache2.pid

Which brings me to another issue. There is a httpd2.conf located in /usr/local/share/examples/apache2/conf/ and another one in /etc/apache2/. Apache is reading from the /usr/local/share/examples/apache2/conf location. Should it not default to /etc?

Did some digging and found there is /usr/sbin/apachectl and /usr/local/sbin/apachectl2. Apachectl2 works as expect. Why the first one is included I'll never know.

Code:
-r-xr-xr-x 1 root bin 7629 Mar 5 2014 /usr/sbin/apachectl

You didn't follow the upgrade instructions when you upgraded? The older versions of OpenBSD used to have Apache in the base and that's where your extra apachectl file is probably from.

Hello, and welcome!

The removal of OpenBSD's custom Apache 1.3 was discussed in the OpenBSD 5.6 Upgrade Guide.

http://www.openbsd.org/faq/upgrade56.html#ToPorts discusses the removal

http://www.openbsd.org/faq/upgrade56.html#RmFiles lists the specific files to delete.
