Default Changes to dates of launch of new releases?

Hmm

I'm just wondering

The 5.9 release was launched on March 29, 2016 instead of the customary May 1, 2016.

The 6.0 release is scheduled to launch on September 1, 2016 instead of the traditional date of November 1, 2016.

Has OpenBSD changed its release dates? Can the community expect that there will be 3 releases next year instead of the customary 2? I don't mind having 3 or more releases annually as it means that I'll have the latest stable technologies.

Default

Maybe it's just down to conflicting developer's schedules with international hackathons and all that?

I wouldn't read too much into it, and I seriously doubt the project would suddenly switch to a 3/year release schedule.
