removing unneeded (orphaned) packages .. is it possible ?
Hi Everybody !!
Manytimes , as we install/delete packages , it becomes a necessity to remove those orphaned -so to speak- packages which were dependencies to a deleted package .. sorry to phrase it badly , but is there a way to autoremove those unneeded orphans? think ubuntu's {apt-get autoremove} way of doing it .. or somethng closer .. Thank you ! |

Per the pkg_delete(1) manpage:
Code:
-a Delete unused dependencies (packages that are not needed by anything tagged as installed manually). Can be used without pkgnames. If used with pkgnames, it will only delete non manual installs in the list. |
