Default *BSD for Sony Vaio Laptop

I have a Sony Vaio laptop model VGN-NS315D. I'm wondering if anyone knows or knows of a resource that will tell me if the webcam will be usable under NetBSD or OpenBSD.

I had FreeBSD on it and couldn't get the camera working. Have OS X (iAtkos) on it...but it doesn't recognized the wifi card.

If you boot an OpenBSD RAMDISK kernel (bsd.rd), the dmesg is likely to show the device vendor and model. No installation will be needed. With that information, we can at least look to see if the device would be recognized and assigned to a driver included with a GENERIC kernel.

I assume NetBSD's ramdisk kernel could function in a similar fashion.

Sometimes Linux can be useful. I did a quick search and this site mentions that
the camera worked in Fedora 15. Another option would be a livecd, either BSD or Linux. You could then review the dmesg and use the respective hardware interogation utilities.
