Child born before Parent
In an unusual release sequence PC-BSD 8.1 is released prior to FreeBSD 8.1.
http://distrowatch.com/?newsid=06199 Anyone know if there are problems with FreeBSD platforms other than i386 and amd64? |

FreeBSD 8.1-RELEASE images are already present on mirrors since 2010/07/19, there is just no official announcement:
http://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ISO-IMAGES-amd64/8.1/ ... or more generic: http://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ISO-IMAGES-${ARCH}/8.1/

Already know about 8.1 from Matt Olander but haven't followed FreeBSDs release schedule, I usually track stable and glance at current lol.
