You have to use Flash7 from ports, then nspluginwrapper -a -i will work.

it goes something like
initializing......
.
.
.
error accessing http://ftp.freebsd.com/blahblahblah/package.extension
..accessing file package name.extension
error accessing http://ftp.freebsd.com/blahblahblah/package.extension
and it repeats like this error a couple times then stops trying. i think the problem is it cant access the file on the host. it cant retrieve it. if i must i can take a picture

The "gpl standalone player" is not Flash. Sounds like gnash to me, and that is very different.

No. You want:

http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/url.cgi?p...gin7/pkg-descr

and nspluginwrapper (part of the acroread port):

http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/url.cgi?p...pper/pkg-descr

Use FreeBSD ports. I've had some errors with Flash in the past, but that is the canonical source.

Perhaps you should read up on how to use the ports and packages system in the freebsd manual.

http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO...ook/ports.html

Perhaps also read this:

reading that wont bring the package back. all 4 package folders on the FTP server have no flashplayer packages. packages 7 and 6 dont have it in there. it was erased or moved or renamed.

The GUI is really nice, but rather try to use the console, you can debug errors more easily and the lads here can help you easier also.

//edit
As robbak suggested, install it from the ports. It works pretty good, albeit some of the flash animations will crash firefox a some will simply not work.

NO, I doubt that you will find the flash player as a package anywhere. Adobe would specifically disallow repackaging their player. Their license also specifically disallows running it on an unsupported OS, but we have an email saying to (basically) ignore their license and go ahead.

You will have to install it from the ports collection. That means that you will not be getting it from any ftp server anywhere. cd /usr/ports/www/linux-flashplugin7 && make install clean
